To help students of all ages properly recite, memorize, and understand the meaning of the words of Allah as revealed.

Our Story — A Timeline of Growth

Summer 2022

A five week summer camp introducing children to Qurʼan memorization with Tajweed. The beginning of something beautiful.

2022 to 2023

The first year round program (August to May) offering Qurʼanic education and memorization opportunities to the Sacramento community.

Summer 2023

The summer camp expanded into two sessions, each session being 3 weeks (6 weeks total) with added student activities.

2023 to 2024

The second year round program (August to May) with expanded student enrollment and a strengthened academic structure.

Summer 2024

Two camp sessions (6 weeks total) with a further strengthened curriculum and enriched student experience.

2024 to 2025

The third year round program (August to May) with strengthened student participation and deeper focus on Qurʼanic learning.

Summer 2025

Two sessions (6 weeks total) with a strengthened curriculum, structured organization, and expanded activities for all age groups.

2025 to 2026

Currently in our fourth year round program continuing to grow in size and quality. This year introduced progress trackers and a rewards system across all areas of the program.

Level 1 & 2 — Bidaya

Work from the Bidaya Arabic Book with practice to read and memorize independently.

Level 3 — Qurʼan Memorization

Students who are fluent in reading and memorizing the Qurʼan without assistance.

Read and Rise — Recite, Elevate, Excel.

Take your Qurʼan recitation to the next level with our structured Adult Tajweed Course, taught in person by Sheikh Abdullah El-Sharkawy. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your recitation, this course is designed for you.

Specialized Program

Alqareʼ Program

The Alqareʼ Program is a specialized Quranic development track designed to identify, train, and systematically prepare future Salah leaders and Quran reciters from within our youth and young people.

Program Objective

To develop a new generation of qualified youth who can confidently lead Salah, recite the Quran beautifully and correctly, and serve the Muslim community as future Imams and Quran leaders, inshaʼAllah.

Who Is This For?

This specialized program is open exclusively to male youth who demonstrate exceptional Quranic potential and possess a naturally strong voice for public recitation.

Curriculum and Teaching Areas

1Tajweed rules and proper Quranic articulation mechanics
2Correction and stylistic refinement of public Quran recitation
3Systematic review and strengthening of previously memorized portions
4Structured memorization framework to complete the Holy Quran
5Practical leadership training in leading Salah and public recitation

How to Apply

Admission is highly structured, limited, and based on a competitive selection process:

1Record a 5 to 7 minute video or high-quality audio sample of your Quran recitation.
2Email your completed digital recording directly to mqi@massacramento.org.
3A specialized committee of Imams will audit all submissions to select the most qualified candidates.
4Selected candidates will be officially invited to the center for a live interview panel.
5Parents of selected candidates must attend a mandatory parent orientation strategy meeting.
6Candidates and parents sign the formal Alqareʼ Program Agreement prior to official class enrollment.
