Zakat ul-Fitr will be $15 a person this year. The head of the household is responsible for paying Zakat ul-Fitr for each member of his household.
Zakat-ul-Mal is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. It is required on every Muslim as long as they posses wealth above the Nisab.
Nisab, which is equal to 85 grams of 24k gold, is the minimum amount of wealth one must have before they are liable to pay zakat.
Zakat-ul-Mal is payable at 2.5% of the wealth one possesses above the Nisab.
Make sure to account for processing fees if paying zakat-ul-mal using a credit card (processing fees are roughly 3.5%)
